52 Books in 52 Weeks - September & October's Book
Yes, I know, I've spent two months AWOL from this blog. That was mainly due to the fact that I read so little in September that it would have been embarrassing to write one whole post about it.
With the end of the year rapidly approaching, I really had to get a move on. My September books were:
"Jingo" by Terry Pratchett
"The Neuromancer" by William Gibson
The latter of the two was an audiobook, as well. In total it took me 27 days to finish both books. At a combined 750 odd pages it wasn't a great effort.
So I jumped into October with renewed determination. Having come so far, I can't fall short at the final hurdle. October saw be download a slew of Kindle titles and have at them. No longer would I watch Netflix on the commute or while cooking - those times would be reserved for reading.
As a result, my October books were:
"Between the World and Me" by Te-Nehsi Coates
"Why I'm Not Talking to White People About Race" by Renni Eddo-Lodge
"The Giver" by "Lois Lowry
"Troublemaker" by Leah Remini
"All Quiet on the Western Front" by Erich Remarque
"Band of Brothers" by Stephen E. Ambrose
Six books for a total of 1522 pages! I think that might be my best month since I started the challenge.
Still, I will have to keep up this kind of pace if I want to hit 52 by the end of December - I've only just managed to hit 39 books read.
What with this and NaNoWriMo starting, I had better get a move on!
